Breck to begin construction at first Staffordshire schemes following planning approval

North West property developer Breck is set to begin construction of 75 affordable homes across two sites in Newcastle-under-Lyme, Staffordshire following the approval of planning permission at the sites.

The developments, 54 homes at High Street and 21 homes at Knutton Lane, are being built on behalf of Newcastle-based housing association Aspire Housing, which selected Breck following a competitive tender process.

The developments will be part-funded by Homes England and Newcastle-under-Lyme Borough Council and will include a mix of one to four-bedroom houses for affordable rent and shared ownership. They are both expected to be complete by mid-2026.

Breck was formed in 2020 and is based near Preston, Lancashire. It specialises in developing affordable houses between 25 and 250 units for registered affordable housing providers as well as homes for open market sale on sites between 10 and 50 units.

Breck currently has a development pipeline of more than 1300 residential properties across the North West and the schemes in Newcastle-under-Lyme are its first in Staffordshire.

Andy Garnett, director, Breck said: “Over the past five years, we have developed a strong reputation for the consistent delivery of high-quality homes in the North West on increasingly larger schemes and we’re excited to continue our growth by starting at our first Staffordshire developments.

“There is a real need for new homes across the UK, particularly affordable homes, and partnering with Aspire on these two developments will mean 75 families, couples and individuals will have a place to call their own in Newcastle-under-Lyme they may not have otherwise been able to secure.”
