Breck Homes has completed the unconditional purchase of a brownfield site in Stanningley, Leeds, for the development of 43 new affordable homes.
The site, on Arthur Street, is part of the former Infinity Metals recycling centre and has been vacant since 2023.
It will feature a range of one and two-bedroom apartments and two and three-bedroom houses. Breck is in talks with affordable housing associations to acquire the development on completion.
Breck will now undertake a public consultation process with local stakeholders before submitting a detailed planning application to Leeds City Council.

The site represents Breck’s sixth Yorkshire development. The developer is currently working in partnership with affordable housing provider Incommunities on three live sites in Bradford, totalling 107 homes.
In August, planning permission was gained for a development of 120 affordable homes at the former Lloyds data and contact centre in Pudsey – Breck expects to begin construction later this year.
It also completed the unconditional purchase of a new four-acre site in East Bierley, with plans to deliver around 70 new affordable homes.
Last summer, the company purchased a 4,400 sq ft office at Millshaw Park Industrial Estate, near Leeds, to accelerate its growth in Yorkshire.
