Breck Homes partners with Weaver Vale on Winterley affordable scheme

June 2026

Breck Homes has exchanged contracts with Weaver Vale Housing Trust to acquire its planned development of 54 affordable homes in Winterley on completion.

The scheme, which is currently awaiting planning approval from Cheshire East Council, includes 30 homes for social rent and 24 for shared ownership, providing a range of affordable housing options for local residents.

It will feature a mix of apartments, bungalows, and larger family houses, with properties ranging from one to four-bedroom homes. It will also include a playground and high-quality open space for the local community to enjoy.

Ground floor apartments and bungalows with wet rooms will be prioritised for people with reduced mobility, adaptable needs, and wheelchair users. The new builds will also include solar panels and EV chargers, helping reduce energy costs and improve energy efficiency.

The scheme will receive funding from Homes England through its new Social and Affordable Homes programme.

Phil Dolan, managing director – North West, Breck Homes said: “Signing contracts with Weaver Vale will allow us to begin on site in the coming weeks with the construction of 54 new much-needed affordable homes as well as new public space for Winterley residents.

“It also marks the start of an exciting new partnership between Breck and Weaver Vale, and we’re looking forward to working together to bring forward this high-quality new community and make sure that the homes we create go to the individuals, couples and families that need them most.”

Louise Marsden, Head of Development said: “There is a great need for good quality, affordable housing across the Cheshire area and our valued partnership with Breck Homes will help us to deliver these homes to the local community. These new social rent and shared ownership homes will help to provide more options for efficient, safe and reasonably priced homes for a variety of customers.

“First-time buyers, growing families, those downsizing, older people and many more will be able to benefit greatly from this exciting new initiative. We look forward to beginning our work with Breck Homes to provide these much needed, high-quality, comfortable homes for our customers to enjoy.”

Construction is set to begin in summer 2026 and is expected to be completed in 2028.
